Karachi, August 14, 2022: Esteemed guests and members of the press gathered at Beach Luxury Hotel for a very special Independence Day event. Along with the silver jubilee celebrations of Pakistan’s creation, attendees were entertained with a rare glimpse of the future of automobiles. The event kicked off after the guests’ arrival was photographed on the elegant red carpet that was laid out. Welcomed by the sound of patriotic songs being played and informative displays of the DICE Foundation’s many efforts, the guests were then ushered to their places as the programme went on its way. Beginning with the recitation of the Holy Quran, everyone in attendance then stood up in respect of the national anthem that was played to commemorate not only the struggle for the country but also the efforts that led us to the country’s electric car.

The host then promptly began the programme by speaking in praise of the special date and introducing the guests to the many important ventures undertaken by DICE Foundation to promote technological innovation in Pakistan, especially the NUR-E 75 as the first indigenous electric car of the nation. After this, the host introduced the chairman and founder of DICE Foundation, Dr. Khurshid Qureshi, a leading expert on the development of electric automobile technology. Dr. Qureshi walked the audience through the journey that brought NUR-E 75 into existence. The guests got to see the visual presentation of the various steps of this long and strenuous project. Through his speech Dr. Qureshi also spoke about the overall impact of this project and why it matters to every common man of Pakistan. He explained how this is a milestone achievement for the technological and automobile sectors of Pakistan, since very few other countries have been successful in creating their own electric vehicles due to its technical advancement. He also pointed out that this is a crucial action in our collective fight against climate change and transitioning away from non-renewable fuel consumption. Another important factor is the economic effect that this car has on the consumer, as it offers a far less travel cost per unit compared to conventional gasoline vehicles.

The prototype on display was adorned by the excited guests as they took pictures with it and admired the sleek design and cutting-edge technology. DICE Foundation plans on bringing this model to the market in 2025, with further plans on developing the car in sedan and SUV configurations on top of the hatchback style of the prototype.

As guests enjoyed refreshments and made conversation, there was an air of optimism and pride at the sight of such an engineering marvel. It is certain that NUR-E 75, unveiled on a historic day, will go on to be remembered as an important step in Pakistan’s path toward innovative and sustainable technologies.
